Professional and Educational Background

Dr. Sanders is a practicing Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington working towards her licensure as a psychologist. She achieved her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington. She completed practicum experiences in high school and college campus settings and a pre-doctoral internship working with children and families within a community-based mental health organization. For her post-doctoral training she created and implemented a co-occurring treatment program tailored toward adolescents and young adults with mental health and substance use problems. Dr. Sanders has expereince working with a large breadth of clinical needs for children, adolescents, adults and families.

Dr. Sanders maintains a practice working with children, adolescents adults and families. The objective of her practice is to meet each client where they are and allow them to achieve their own identified goals. Dr. Sanders views each client as the expert of his or her own experiences and as having the internal drive to reach a place of improved well-being. Her therapeutic approach is founded on humanistic theories while evidence-based techniques are employed to meet each client's needs. Therapy may include solution-focused techniques, cognitive-behavioral or dialectical-behavioral strategies for coping and managing thoughts, feelings and beahviors, experiential exercises and emotion-focused interventions.

Dr. Sanders enjoys making memories with family, engaging in athletic activities and spending time with her adopted pup.
