Professional and Educational Background
Dr. Evan B. Freedman, a Licensed Psychologist, received his Ph.D. and MA in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. He also earned a Masters of Theological Studies from
Dr. Freedman maintains a clinical practice with children and families, is former supervisor of Adult Services at the Whatcom Counseling and Psychiatric Clinic, and is actively involved with research, lecturing, and writing in the field of applied psychology. He provides psychological assessment for multicultural populations in the areas of general emotional and cognitive function, parenting fitness, competence and capacity, as well as potential for violence. His evaluations focus on strengths as well as problem areas and emphasize treatment recommendations designed to improve function.
Dr. Freedman has worked with children, families and adults for over fifteen years. He has a background working with children and families in demanding wilderness environments for organizations such as Outward Bound. He brings an active, experiential orientation to his clinical work. He believes strongly in his clients’ own strengths and abilities, and works to bring these positive traits to light. He builds trusting relationships with his clients through humor and compassion. When appropriate, he uses experiential techniques in outdoor settings as an adjunct to office-based treatment.

Personal Information
Dr. Freedman is an avid outdoorsman in all seasons and enjoys skiing, cycling, mountaineering, and backpacking. He is also a violinist and ventures to play everything from Vivaldi to Hendrix.
